On September 27th my exchange in Ireland finished.I was very excited because I just had such an incredible experience. I had met many nice people and seen many new places. That day we were traveling all the time. We left Kilfinane at seven o'clock in the morning. We went by bus to Dublin. At the airport we waited for the plane. Our flight was delayed because of thunderstorms. At six o'clock in the evening we arrived in Bilbao. There we took a bus that took us directly to Logroño.     When I arrived to Logroño I was very exicited to see all my family. My friends came to pick me up at the bus station. It was a surprise for me, because I didn't know they were coming to see me. I was happy because it had been a long time since we had seen each other. This experience has helped me a lot to discover new things. I am a very shy person and I think that this experience has helped me to be more open and now I can do more things that I didn't do before because I was embarrassed.

Weekend in Ireland

There was one weekend that I did a lot of things. Saturday was the start of the San Mateo festivities in my city in Spain. All the exchange students went to a park to see it together and then we went to Limerick for the day. Went shopping some things we need. We walked around the streets. The buildings aren`t as in Spain. The houses had two or three floors. The streets were very long because there were many buildings of this type.   On Sunday we went for a walk in a park in the town of Mallow.     It rains a lot in Ireland, the landscape is very green. I was playing with my Irish dog, Lola.  I was running with her in the park.   There was also a field with deer. Lola thought she was a deer and ate grass. In that park there was a very grand old house. It was a cafeteria. I was also playing with Lola running around the park.  Finally in the afternoon we went to visit the grandparents. We took a walk in the Charleville park with them.

The day the Erasmus students who were there for two weeks arrived, we went to Dublin to pick them up. We also went to see the city. we leave kilfinane early in the morning. And at eleven o'clock in the morning we arrived in Dublin. s We visited very famous places in Dublin. The Temple Bar neighborhood was my favorite. They were very decorated houses of many colors and different sizes. There were areas with graffiti's and they were impressive.  We visited the Trinity College too. It’s the most important university in Ireland. It’s very big and the walls are made of stone. We sited in a grass zone to had a break and looked around us an see the campus of the university. Then we went to a very large street. It was the area of stores and restaurants. We took the opportunity to buy souvenirs and to eat. There were stores of all kinds. I was amazed with a three-story pharmacy because it was the first time I saw something like that.  Finally we went to the airport to wait for our com

14th September Ballyhash excursion

Today all the students of Erasmus an transition year had an excursion to Ballyhash lakes. The place where we went on the excursion was a multi-adventure park with zip lines, climbing area and many more activities. We left the school at nine o'clock and took a bus that took an hour to get there.  When we arrive to the place the monitors divided us into seven groups.  Each group went to an activity and I had one on a lake.It was like an amusement park in the water. It had got slides and jumping zones. Later we stopped for lunch. I prepared a sandwich and domes pieces of fruit for lunch at home.  after lunch I was climbing. It was a course with very long walls and zip lines. On the zip line it felt like you were flying. My favorite was one that went over a lake. One thing that I found very funny was the way they braked on the zip lines. When you did it you looked like Michael Jackson.

18th September in Ireland surfing and Moher cliffs

Today we had an excursion for all Erasmus students. To get to the beach we had to take a bus that took two and a half hours to get to Lahinch. We arrived to the place and went to put on our wetsuits. It was my first time surfing in a long  time but I wasn't too nervous. In the sea there were many waves and the water was very cold. We had our wetsuits on and it wasn't too cold. We spent two hours surfing. I had a great time because I managed to get up many times on the surfboard. By the time we finished I was very tired. We went to the bus and arrived at the Cliffs of Moher. The Cliffs of Moher are visited by many people. They are very high and black in color. One of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. That was my favorite excursion because we did lots of things in a day

20th September in Ireland

Today we had very few Erasmus students at school because many of them were at a farmers' festival called ploughing championships. There were also a lot of Irish students missing and the school was noticeably short of people. First thing in the morning I had physics, which was the last class I was  the day before. We did two experiments. One of radiation and the other of convection and other of radiation.  For the radiation experiment we needed three water bottles, one each of silver, black and white, a water heater and three thermometers.  That evening we went back to Charleville and had dinner at the grandparents' house. Later we went for a walk with Lola the family dog there and in the evening we were watching typical TV programmes from there. They showed me a programme in which they spoke Irish with a strong accent and I didn't understand it very well.

The school in Ireland

In Ireland there are many differences in the classes compared to those in Spain. For that reason I wanted to dedicate a section in this blog because in my opinion it is very interesting. The course I did was very different from what we do in Spain. It is called transition year and it is a year in which a lot of work is done. They don't have any work or homework. All the students had to have an iPad to do the different class activities because they were working a lot with PowerPoint kahoot and stuff like that. About the subjects they have some like the ones we have in Spain but another are different.   For example, they have a cooking class twice a week. One day they teach them the recipe and the second day they make it. Another thing that caught my attention was that lunchtime was at the school and they ate there.
