the Irish school

Today was my last day of school as an Erasmus student. The things we did today that I liked the most were the journalism class and the barista course where they taught us how to make coffees. In journalism we were interviewed by Scoil Pol students about our experience in Ireland, the differences between the school in Spain and how we had been with our host families and things like that. After the interview we were told that they will use them for a newspaper that they are going to use for the transition year students. After lunch we have been doing the barista course and they showed us how to do it with machines. I found this talk very useful because if you want to work in a coffee shop in the future you will know how these machines work. I made a cappuccino and later I made myself a hot chocolate.   After class we stayed for the last time in the pitch. We were all Spanish students having a good time.

Sunday in Ireland

From the three weeks I have been here I have learned that Sundays are relaxed days, or at least in my Irish family. It's a day when you're at home relaxing or else you go and visit your family. Yesterday morning I went for a walk in my city with my host family's dog. We went to a park and walked around for quite a while, until it started to rain.Good thing I was wearing my raincoat and didn't get too wet. In the evening I went to my grandparents' house for dinner. The dinner was delicious. My plate was full of things like boiled vegetables, turkey and jacket potatoes. Grandma told me that this kind of dinner was very typical for Christmas. I was also talking to my host grandfather about what it was like where I live. And I have shown him where my house, school and my village were. At seven o'clock we came back home. One hour later the match between Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid started. The match was won by Atlético de Madrid three to one. And this has be...

Cork

I visited the town of Cork the 23 of September with my host family.  Cork is town situated in southeast of Ireland.  Cork is the most populous county in Ireland. This was the city I visited the other day with my host family. We were at the English Market. It is a market of local products. They have fishmongers, greengrocers, butchers. I was very surprised because there were stalls with products from all countries.   At half past two I went to have lunch to a Irish pub. I was amazed because the building wasn't very big but in the inside it was very big and it has got lot of rooms.  I ate a meat pizza. It was very nice.  The rest of the day was filled with shopping, buying presents for my Spanish family. We also wandered around the streets of Cork. The buildings are not big but very colourful.  In the evening we came back home and at eight o'clock my host family and I were watching the rugby match between Ireland and South Africa. The match was v...
